March 31^st has now come and gone and that would normally mean that your opportunity to file assessment appeals or Requests for Reconsideration for the 2020 property taxation year has lapsed. However, due to the Province’s declaration of emergency and its Order to suspend limitation periods pursuant to the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act and regulations made thereunder, these deadline dates have been extended as follows:

• The Request for Reconsideration filing deadline date with MPAC is extended to 16 days after the emergency Order is lifted.
• The Appeal filing deadline date with the Assessment Review Board is extended to 15 days after the emergency Order is lifted.​
